CWG 2022: PV Sindhu Claims Women's Singles Badminton Gold

PV Sindhu made the nation proud with winning gold medal in the

women’s singles badminton event by defeating Canada’s

Michelle Li in 21-15, 21-13 sets.   Double Olympic medallist PV Sindhu finally won

her first singles gold medal at the Commonwealth Games

PV Sindhu is battling pain. She is playing with an injury. Sindhu had

strapping on her ankle and it seemed to hinder her movements

early in the match. However she seemed to have gotten over it

and claimed the gold medal with a dominant performance to

a 2-0 straight sets win over the Canadian with an early advantage.

She continued to assert her superiority in a match where the

Canadian was made to run from one end to the other in an

attempt to recover Sindhu’s
deadly shots.
